I have decided to stop making excuses and get off the couch. I am meeting a friend at our local shopping centre at 5:30pm tonight to do a few laps of walking. We have decided that Tuesday’s and Thursday’s suit both of us , so that will do to start. I am also doing my mini cycle daily. I have to get a bit fitter ready for One Foot Forward in October. I am also thinking of walking at Parkrun. I did order a plastic barcode card.

It's great you're getting back to it @Oaktree . Keeping your aims realistic and having a friend join you sounds good. 

I've maintained my daily walking up til now but have missed some days the last fortnight. Other aspects of my routine are also out of whack. 

I think Parkrun is 5km. My usual daily walk is 2km.

I've heard that parkruns are so much fun 🙂

 

I'm not ready for one - yet, but maybe in the future?

Well it’s October so that means walking for The Black Dog Institute!

 

Couldn’t walk on the 1st because I was visiting a friend on a tiny island.

 

On the 2nd I walked a ton because I went to the Royal Show.

 

The 3rd I walked a moderate amount.

 

Today I started walking and was about halfway when it started pouring and I got soggy. I called hubby to come pick me up. I really should have taken an umbrella.

You're off to a good start @Oaktree . Do you have a target? 

I paused for breath a few times walking home from the shop just now.  I walk every day but need to build general fitness. The gp wants me to shed some kg.

Yes I do have a target but I can’t say what it is due to community guidelines.

How is the walking going @Oaktree ? 

I didn't walk far today but I did my full set of physio exercises for the first time in weeks.

Didn’t walk too far yesterday and today because I was at Tafe. Still on track to hit my target though. Will do a walk tomorrow

Hi @Oaktree @Dimity @Glisten @Shaz51  I have ended up not going to exercise physio weeks now after tying myself in a mental knot and trying justify it.

Eventually they rang.  I'm going back. got appts til Nov now lol. I did most steps in ages shopping other day, like parked inbetween shops instead of driving fromone to the other. back siezed up ,had to sit on bench at least once. funny , it seemed okay after that lol

Well done with TAFE @Oaktree  how much longer does it go for ? must be a fair way down the track ?
