Re: Good Morning!

it's not easy sometimes @Former-Member  I'm not brilliant myself atm

didn't you get a diagnosis recently ? did the person you saw suggest anything ?

Talking about things can help sometimes. Or just talking to anyone re being alone. Like 4 words and smile to checkout person ?

I just drove towards shops, had 3 things in mind, light globes bunnings, chicken treat , well a treat and script. ok was feeling weird plus raining, bad time of day etc  but drove around the block and came home lol

So guess will try it all again tomorrow lol

Re: Good Morning!

Yeah I felt it was okay to chat here re what I was experiencing @TAB since everywhere else I am told to keep quiet. Probably for the better, I don't know. 4 words and smile? Haven't heard that one.

when I go shopping too I only have that which I need on my mind.

sorry for being frantic, but I feel a little lost right now.. am seeing psych soon so maybe in the 30 mins he has I can find out some of that info which I need. Thanks for getting back to me. Gotta figure this out on my own I guess!

do you know anyone with schizophrenia @TAB on sane forums? Would like to meet another person, see how they're doing!

Hey @Former-Member I am surprised you were given a diagnosis like Schizophrenia and not given proper support and advice as how to proceed.  No wonder you have questions. Most of my life I have had to be careful about who to tell about family problems and mental health issues. It has not changed a lot despite more awareness in the news and media etc.  I am over 60.  Such a diagnosis can be difficult and isolating in of itself.  They are still trying to work out which box to put me in.  Go gently with yourself, get on top of self care, and slowly put feelers out online and irl, to test the waters and see how people respond. I am on NDIS and formal supports have been essential in recent years, although there must be good people out there who can think without stigma ....still looking ....

Cheers Apple

Re: Good Morning!

if you type schizophrenia into the search box ... you may get a few posts from those with similar lived experience.  You need to check how recent the posts are ...some people drop out of the forum .... be patient for responses, and dont take everything personally.  Some people may surprise and reply after not being on the site for ages ....

Re: Good Morning!

@Appleblossom I guess I had some issues and didn't take care of the aspects re work. And losing jobs didn't bother me too much, cause there is always the next, just the resume looks bad compared to what I am capable of doing - which probably wasn't reflective to be honest. Yeah I need proper guidance now and watching insight on how to approach work is helping. And reading threads online is helping - hoping for the best but expecting the worst like a song says. Thanks for responding @Appleblossom just in between psychs at the moment, just need to focus more on myself, be a little selfish I suppose.
