Dogs Rock ๐Ÿ˜†

Re: Dogs Rock ๐Ÿ˜†

Oh so true @Former-Member ...

My Holly can pick out any worming, flea or tick treatment pills or shaved chews out anywhere anytime. Wrapped in cheese, chicken, prime steak, even her favourite atlantic salmon ... and sure enough .. Out comes those carefully hidden pills. Extracted pills spat out the side, all the good tucker eaten.

And as for those treatments they tell you on adverts that your dog will love, and eat like a treat! Who are they kidding? What dog do they actually base this wonderful research on? Certainly not mine. I have to hold her down and force them down her throat.  Argghhh.

Yes I can well imagine @mumto2

๐Ÿ˜ต

A year or so ago my Holly had a mild infection, swollen glands etc. Needed to have antibiotics every day. First couple of days we got them down with the help of a can of red salmon. Yes it had to be the expensive one! But then she got totally suss and would spit them out. Always at the bottom of her bowl would be that nasty little half pill. They get so knowing, dont they? Plus Im sure they sense your own anxiety, and that becomes a clue for them that tablets are coming! Ive tried all the tricks. She is a great little catcher, and is used to getting little treats tossed up for her. Normally one gulp and gone. But no .. if there is a tiny little tablet hidden in there ... out it comes.

So how did you manage all that medicating?

Re: Dogs Rock ๐Ÿ˜†

On edge here, my 3 year old girl is a princess when it comes to going out for a pit stop when it's raining and the last three times I have taken the little fellow out I did not see her go.

She was only partly toilet trained when we got her and there have been some unwanted inside incidents and I am not keen to have repeated. ๐Ÿ˜ต๐Ÿ˜ต๐Ÿ˜ต

Re: Dogs Rock ๐Ÿ˜†

Ha ha ha ... Your princess sounds a bit like my little Princess Holly. @Former-Member

Holly hates getting her little delicate feet wet. When its raining, she is very reluctant to go outside. Thankfully she is very well toilet trained, but she will hold on for as long as possible if its raining.

Does your Princess have the run of the house? If you are worried, it may be worthwhile restricting her to the laundry or somewhere else that cleanup is easier. Just for the night, while you cant watch her to read the warning signs. :pile_of_poo:

Re: Dogs Rock ๐Ÿ˜†

She just headed out with intent, yay.

As an ex show dog she is crate trained and will not soil her bed which we decided would be wise to continue using due to Mr D's current treatment and it has worked well. They both sleep in it and the little fellow is good at letting us know if he needs to go during the night.
